Privacy, plainly explained

This explains how the informational website and the current web beta handle information. It does not describe a future App Store release.

This informational website

The website explains Dino Letter Hunt and links to the separate playable beta. It has no signup form, advertising, added analytics, or account system. The website’s own code does not store a visitor profile or ask for a child’s name.

Images, fonts and scripts are served with the website. Viewing a page or following the play link still makes a normal network request to the relevant host.

The game’s local explorer book

The web beta saves completed letters, visits, collected pictures, completion dates, practice information such as misses or hints, and sound, motion and learning preferences in this browser’s local storage. The game does not ask for a child’s name, email address, microphone, camera or location.

The game code does not send this saved progress to an account or analytics service. It stays with this browser and device; it does not sync across devices. If storage is unavailable, a session may only keep progress temporarily.

Recorded audio and browser voices

The beta plays prepared recordings, including letter sounds. It downloads these audio files from the game’s host; it does not create a new voice recording while your child plays.

For some ordinary words or narration, the game can fall back to the browser’s speech service if a recording cannot play. The browser or operating system may use a local or a remote voice. A remote voice service may receive the fixed text being spoken and connection information. The child is never asked to speak or send an audio recording. Letter phonemes use recorded clips rather than an unverified browser pronunciation.

Hosting and technical information

Both web pages are currently hosted through ChatGPT Sites, with Cloudflare infrastructure. The hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested file paths, timestamps, and security cookies needed to deliver and protect the sites. We cannot promise that visiting a hosted website involves no data processing.

We have not added third-party advertising, tracking pixels or analytics to either site. Provider security and operational records are separate from the explorer book saved by the game. Their retention is controlled by those providers, not by the game’s reset button.

Your choices

• Use the game’s speaker button to turn sound off, and Grown-ups settings to adjust animation and learning options.
• Reset the explorer book through the app’s Grown-ups settings. Hold to review the reset, or choose “Reset using confirmation.” Nothing clears until you confirm. Or clear the game’s site data through the browser’s controls.
• Clearing site data, switching browsers, or ending a private-browsing session can remove or hide saved progress. There is no account recovery or cloud backup.

Questions and changes

A dedicated support address is not yet published. During this beta, contact the person who shared the game with you for privacy questions or feedback. Please do not send a child’s name, photo, voice recording, or other identifying information. The parent help page explains what is useful in a technical report.

We will update this page if the beta’s data handling changes. An App Store release will need information specific to that released app.
